AUNG SAN SUU KYI RELEASE

Aung San Suu Kyi Was Elected For President of Burum. She was arrested by the corrupt Burum military and was placed on house arrest for 13-19 years. The military knew they would lose power and it would become more strict. They did not want to hand her power. Her popularity threatened the country's new military rulers. In 1989, she was detained on trumped-up national security charges and put under house arrest. She was not released until 1995. Out of the last 21 years, she has been jailed or under house arrest for more than 15. Thousands,especially her youngest son waited for her release on saturday. She is internationally called a hero and the only hope to bring democracy to Burum. She still plans to bring democracy to Burum after her release and will succeed for the people who look up to her.
